7 sailors to represent St Kitts and Nevis at Caribbean Dinghy Championship 2024

The St Kitts and Nevis Sailing Association has announced a team of seven sailors who are all set to compete at the Caribbean Dinghy Championship. This event marks a great opportunity for the sailors of the island nation to showcase their skills, techniques and talent on an international platform.

This prestigious championship has been scheduled to take place from 25th to 27th October, 2024 in Simpson Bay, St. Maarten. This event will bring together the top sailors from across the region to compete the weekend full of dinghy races.

As per the details, the selected sailor team of St Kitts and Nevis includes participants from two prominent clubs including, the St Kitts Yacht Club and the Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Center. These two clubs are non-profit organizations which are responsible for developing and improving the sport of sailing through their increased skills and knowledge.

These two clubs also play a pivotal role in organizing Regattas and supporting their elite sailors in regional and international competitions.

The Caribbean Dinghy Championship will feature a variety of dinghy classes and the Sailors who will represent St Kitts and Nevis include,

While extending best wishes to the participants, the St Kitts and Nevis Sailing Association stated that they are looking forward to hear all their great experiences which they will learn at the prestigious Regatta. They noted that they are extremely happy that such initiatives are taking place as it will play a huge role in bringing the future and development of their sailors in the federation.

Moreover, last year, the Caribbean Dinghy Championship was held in Martinique at Cercle Nautique de Schoelcher. And, this year, St. Maarten Yacht Club has been chosen to host CDC 2024.

While shedding light on CDC 2024, the St Maarten Yacht Club Commodore, Frits Bus stated that they are honoured to host the Championship once again. He added that their team is dedicated to providing a memorable experience for all the participants and spectators.

Last year, the championship saw a tough and fierce competition between the teams including, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Martinique, Antigua, St. Maarten, and St Kitts and Nevis. And, keeping the same environment, the authorities stated that they are aiming to see the competitors return for the 2024 edition, ensuring double the entertainment and fun.
