The world is full of bizarre cultures, one of which is the Yanomami Tribe, where after burning the dead body of a relative, people make plantain soup out of their bones and ashes.
These weird customs are difficult to understand, but at the same time, they are interesting enough to capture the interest of other people in their controversy.
Yanomami Tribe
The Yanomami Tribe emerged from South America and is also known as Senema or Yanam. They are found in parts of Venezuela and Brazil. The tribe is still practising their old traditions as they are not easily influenced by Westernization or modernization.
This tribe has a strange burial practice similar to cannibalism called Endocannibalism.

Endocannibalism is a practice in which the flesh of a dead person from the same tribe, society or community is eaten.
Ritual: Drinking plantain soup of Bones and Ashes of deceased
Notably, the Yanomami are a native tribe, and people of this particular ethnic group believe the spirit must be protected after the body dies.
Shockingly, they believe that the soul can only properly rest and make its transformation when the body is burned, and the remains of the body are eaten by the living relatives.
Unlike the traditional burial ritual, this native Indian tribe burns the body of the dead person and paints their faces with the dirt from the burnt body.
It is to be noted that by doing this, they express their grief and sorrow for the dead person.
Additionally, this does not end here, as in the second phase of the burial, they collect the bones left after burning the corpse, mix them with the ashes of the burnt bodies, and make a powder of them.
They mix the powder with bananas, which are used to make banana soup. This soup is a local dish of this tribe, and they give it to everybody to eat.

They feel that completing this burial ritual is the only way from which the soul attains eternal peace.
However, in a situation where a relative or village member is killed by the enemy, only the women eat the ashes, and after that, revenge is taken on the criminals.
Notably, the ceremony is performed on the same night while the villagers take revenge by raiding the enemy territory.
These tribal people are famous for their hard-to-believe rituals, acts, and way of living.
