Saint Lucia: The Meteorological Department shared an update on the predicted weather conditions on January 3, 2023. The update was announced by forecaster Webster Gajadhar on the evening of January 2. The update shared has shown that the weather will remain fair to partial clouds with a few brief showers. The prevailing conditions will remain hazy, and it is expected that the winds will blow at the speed of 20 mph or 31 km/h between east-northeast and east.
Forecaster Gajadhar further stated that the Lesser Antilles region would witness the same conditions as the country. As per the update the weather update, the weather at Hewanorra Airport and GFL Charles Airport remained fair and hazy in January, and the temperature was 26°C or 79°F, and the range of maximum temperature was 29°C or 84°F. The winds were blowing from the east at the speed of 17 mph or 28 km/h.
Total rainfall witnessed by the country in the month of January was 15.5 mm at Hewanorra Airport and 16.7 mm at GFL Airport. The weather department further informed that the sun would rise at 6:28 am and would set at 5:48 pm.
According to the update, the marine forecast for seas in a 25-mile or 40 km radius from Saint Lucia. The tides for Castries Harbour were predicted to be low at 7:27 pm and 6:20 am and high at 2:20 am. The tides for Vieux Fort Bay will be low at 8:54 pm and 7:47 am, as well as high at 3:28 am. The sea waves remain moderate, with waves between 4 to 6 feet.
While explaining the weather summary, the update informed that Saint Lucia and the nearby region would continue to form moderate to brisk easterly winds over the next few days. It is expected that the low-level clouds will cause a few showers in the next 24 hours.
