Vector Control Unit, Health Ministry continues fogging exercise in St Michael
The team of Vector Control Unit, along with the Ministry of Health and Wellness continues its fogging activities this week, from Monday to Thursday in St Michael.

Bridgetown, Barbados: The team of Vector Control Unit, along with the Ministry of Health and Wellness continues its fogging activities this week, from Monday to Thursday in St Michael. However, there is an exception for Good Friday, which falls on March 29.
This week, the Unit team will cover the several areas in St Michael for an entire week. The immediate aim behind this exercise is to eradicate mosquitoes. Following are the dates and times scheduled according to the locations.
Fogging exercise schedule
The Ministry of Health is collaborating with the Vector Control Unit, ensuring that fogging activities will run smoothly and prioritize the health of all its citizens.
Monday, March 25
The officials of the Unit team will fog in the areas of St Michael, including Pine Hill Road, Cedar Hill Road, Erdiston Drive, Sunset Drive, Pine Gardens, Elizabeth Drive and surrounding communities.
Tuesday, March 26
Following the spraying exercises on Monday, the team will proceed towards the other areas such as Princess Royal Avenue, Lascelles Terrace, Pine Plantation Road and nearby areas.
Wednesday, March 27
The fogging team will visit Wildey Avenue Nos.1 to 8, Wharfdale Road, Barclays Terrace, Golden Rock Road, Newton Crescent, Meadow Road and surrounding areas on Wednesday.
Thursday, March 28
The mosquito breeding exercise will be concluded on Thursday in the areas of Main Port Road, Pine East-West Road, Stanley Terrace, Smith Avenue, and Golden Rock Road.
It is to be noted that the fogging exercise takes place from 4:30 to 8:30 pm daily. The authorities urged all the residents of the concerned areas to keep their doors and windows open during the fogging to allow the spray to enter in the houses.
Additionally, the parents are advised not to allow their children to play in the fog to avoid any sickness or respiratory diseases.
The fogging activities may be affected by the events beyond the Unit’s control, and as a result, the Unit will return to the affected communities as soon as possible.
The Ministry of Health ensures that every facility is provided to the citizens of the country to improve their health and well-being.
