Government House Communications Director Richard Motta announced that the Governor would be going on this trip during a weekly media briefing.

Motta stated the following, “Governor Bryan’s visit is a proactive step towards enhancing our regional engagement and building beneficial partnerships. We anticipate this trip will lead to strengthened relationships and new initiatives that will positively impact the Virgin Islands and our neighbours.”

According to Motta, while in Barbados, Governor Bryan will engage with his counterparts in an attempt to have a more open exchange between the two nations in terms of education and sustainable development.

As a part of this effort, he is expected to visit the Ross University and will also tour the Rock Hard Cement Plant, as well as local construction projects, enabling him to get a grasp on Barbados’ sustainable construction practices.

While he is in St Vincent and the Grenadines, Governor Bryan is the Ministers of Finance, Tourism and Economic Development. He is also scheduled to sit down with Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, to foster relations that allow for mutual economic benefit, growth and development.

Bryan is also scheduled to visit agricultural and fisheries sites which will give him the tools to work towards better food security and growth in his own territory.

Lieutenant Governor Tregenza Roach will fulfill the role of acting governor for the US Virgin Islands between the 25th of March and the 1st of April, while Governor Bryan is away on this diplomatic mission.

The initiative is of great importance to the US Virgin Islands as the territory looks forward to building upon pre-existing relations with nations in the Caribbean region while also attempting to establish meaningful dialogue with other nations in the vicinity.
