US Secretary of Homeland Security warned Haitians and Cubans for illegal entry into US

A strict warning has been passed to the Cubans and Haitians not to enter the US illegally. Especially after the tensions that arose after the death of Haitian President Jovenel Moise. The United States Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro N. Mayorkas, given this statement.

In addition, the threat of serious illness when boarding vessels in subpar conditions have been more significant at that time during a pandemic.
Mayorkas said that the US Coast Guard recently sent two cutters to the coast of Haiti, in addition to three others already in nearby waters.
Mayorkas highlighted that, in May, he stated that the label of Haiti for Temporary Protected Status (TPS), making it clear, however, that TPS has not an immigration program but benefits Haitian nationals who have been already in the United States at the time of designation.
United States Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas said that TPS eligibility applies only to those Haitians who had been already residing in the United States from May 21, 2021, and who meet all other legal requirements.
