Two vehicle collides near Ruimveldt Police Station in Georgetown
A 5-year-old and other persons were injured in a terrifying accident that occurred in front of Ruimveldt Police Station at Georgetown on Monday.

Georgetown, Guyana: A 5-year-old,31-Y-O man and 50-Y-O woman were injured in a terrifying accident that occurred in front of Ruimveldt Police Station at Georgetown on Monday.
The 31-Y-O man suffered minor injuries on their feet and the other 50-Y-O female patient received serious injuries, which included laceration and deformity to her lower body.
It is to be noted that firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians from the Eccles and Alberttown fire stations reached the scene immediately and responded to the matter.
Moreover, as a result of an accident, three passengers of the minibus suffered injuries and were examined at the scene by Emergency Medical Technicians, and then they were taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Details of the accident
As per reports, the accident involved two vehicles, particularly a Honda Vezel bearing registration number PAD2018 and a Blue Toyota Hiace RZ Minibus with registration number BHH8451.
Additionally, the first vehicle was owned by Ryan Seechanna of Lot 138 Bellevue West Bank Demerara, and it was driven by Romel Seechanna, a 29-year-old man.
The other vehicle was owned and driven by Raul McKenzie of Lot 269 Sommatta Point of Grove at East Bank Demerara.
As a consequence, both the vehicles and their contents were ruined/ destroyed, which resulted in a broken limb in both the drivers.
Firefighters tried to take away both the drivers who had become trapped in their vehicles due to the collision.
Notably, there is a need to emphasize the critical importance of road safety to prevent accidents and protect lives. People are advised to stay vigilant, and following the traffic rules and prioritizing safety on the roadway should be declared mandatory.
Meanwhile, many people took to their official social media handle (Facebook) to share their opinions and viewpoints regarding the matter.
While reacting to the news, one such person named Rohanie Gaj wrote, “Speeding always an issue for accidents there should be law for those careless drivers who don’t know to use the road properly first instead killing innocent people every day so sad.”
Another user by the name of Trish Bod commented, “These drivers need to take the time on the road, I don’t know y they does be so hurry. Passenger need to tell the driver’s to slow down or stop the bus an get off.”
