Terror for a 16-year-old boy and two adults after armed men broke into their home at Monteil Trace, Fyzabad, in the wee hours of the day.

Trinidad: Terror for a 16-year-old boy and two adults after armed men broke into their home in the Southwestern region of Trinidad, in the wee hours of the day. Police said around 5:45 am, a 56-year-old man, a native resident of Monteil Trace, Fyzabad, was standing in his front yard when four masked men dressed in dark-color clothing appeared before him with guns in their hands.

Once inside, the attackers bound the 56-year-old man making sure that he would not be able to move. They continued with their proceed in the house and met a 54-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy. The attackers showed no sympathy, rather they tied up the woman along with the teenager. With all the three victims having been restricted the attackers turned to ransacking the house.

The suspects thoroughly searched the house, stealing anything of value they could find there. They were able to steal multiple cellular phones, an estimated US $30,000 worth of jewelry, and US $1,000 in cash. This kind of search can only be referred to as methodical and ruthless as in that, nothing was left behind. Besides the valuables, the suspects also took off with the keys to a Kia Rio parked outside the home.

Upon exit, the victims were left tied up and the suspects, with the looted valuables, drove off with the stolen Kia Rio. The tied up victims managed to free themselves after the departure of the intruders. They contacted the police immediately when they got loose. The victims were advised to visit the hospital for the injuries sustained during the violent ordeal.

The incident has raised the alarm, and police, through the leadership of PC Ramesar, has begun their investigations. The authority, on the matter, is trying to see that the offenders are booked. The people residing in Monteil Trace had been shocked by the incident and therefore called for an appeal regarding security.

This is an incident that shows the vulnerability of residents and the boundless criminal activities in the area. The police are now calling upon those with information on the suspected attackers or stolen car to avail it and assist in the investigation process. The community is also available to support the victims as they rehabilitate from the trauma caused by the physical and mental attacks during the home invasion.
