A sequence of low-level to surface troughs has affected Trinidad, Tobago and the from December 6- 9, 2023, by bringing periodic rain, thunderstorms and heavy showers.
Notably, the heavier rainfall is expected to remain offshore and affect the eastern areas, and street flooding will remain a matter of concern with gusty winds accompanying violent rainfall.

Mild concentrations will be seen through Sunday, with rainfall tempering air quality impacts.
Hazards

The period of heavy rainfall can trigger flash flooding. Landslides are also possible in elevated areas of northern Trinidad and eastern Tobago. Elevated winds are set to continue into the weekend.

In covered areas, waves are forecasted to be up to 1.5 meters and choppy in heavy showers and thunderstorms.
