Suriname: The government of Suriname installed the National Wage Council for the development of social security in the nation. On the occasion of this historic moment, Prez Chan Santokhi expressed his views on Facebook.
Prez Chan Santokhi’s post:
I just installed the National Wage Council. This is a historic moment in the development of social security in Suriname. A call was made from the stakeholders to install the National Wage Council. The signal was very clear and clear, and here the government has stated hearing.
The National Wage Council is there to provide building blocks so that the lowest wages bring enough purchasing power, allowing workers to maintain their families.
I hereby declare that this government is loyal to the interests of the working class. They are our citizens, who daily as men and women of the country, leave home to build land.
One of the promises of this government is to be a support in the backs of the people. This government is stimulating progress.
This government has committed itself to the reconstruction of Suriname. The success of this country depends on our efforts to open the door to a better future. In my Annual speech, I renewed the government’s commitment to the concept of ‘ Decent Work ‘.
“The National Wages Council also fits in with the goals pursued by the Crisis and Recovery Plan, namely to generate a positive improvement for working citizens and their families. With the- establishment of the National Wage Council, we are entering a new era today,” he added.
Why is the development of social security important?
Social Security contributes a foundation of assets on which workers can establish to plan for their future retirement. It also renders valuable social insurance security to workers who accidentally become disabled and to families whose provider dies.
A resident, Irshaad Juthan, commented, “Another neat development from our president. More and more are added as time goes by. Experts see and understand this.”
