Sunrise Airways launches first flight to Antigua and Barbuda, enhances Eastern Caribbean connectivity

Antigua and Barbuda: Sunrise Airways launched its first ever direct flight to Antigua and Barbuda from Saint Lucia on 28th May 2024. The arrival of the flight marks a new chapter in connecting the island nation to St. Kitts, Saint Lucia and Dominica which emphasises on building connections and relations.
The introduction of new airline to Antigua and Barbuda will create a huge boost for the tourism industry of the country. Along with that, it is a great opportunity for the airline to make the Easter Caribbean more connected through its services and attract large number of visitors.
Sunrise Airways operated its inaugural service by utilizing Embraer 120 (EMB-120) twin-turboprop aircraft, which offers a maximum capacity of 30 passengers. Notably, the airline will operate six days a week, except Tuesday. The services that Sunrise Airways include
- Antigua – Dominica (twice in a day)
- Antigua – St. Kitts (twice in a day)
- Antigua – Saint Lucia (once in a day)
The CEO of the Sunrise Airways, Philippe Bayard expressed his excitement about the introduction of services and connecting islands under one Caribbean concept. He stated that they are all set to offer their travellers with the best amenities in order to make their travel memorable and comfortable.
The CEO of Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, Collin C James stated that the arrival of Sunrise Airways to the country will have a great impact on the tourism sector. It will elevate the aviation sector to greater heights and will make the travel options easier for the tourists.
Along with that, the tourism ministry of the island nation aims to strengthen the economic conditions of the country, boost region air travel and promote the adventurous and hot-spot destination of Antigua and Barbuda with this air connectivity between Sunrise Airways and Eastern Caribbean.
Moreover, the tourism authority of Antigua and Barbuda are also making several efforts to make the island nation a premier destination. For the same, they have been implementing several strategies and plans with a vision to promote sustainable tourism in the country.
