St. Kitts and Nevis: The strengthened Due Diligence procedure is the key factor behind the promised safety and security under the Citizenship by Investment Programme of St. Kitts and Nevis. This has come with the results of the led actions and initiative by the CIU Head, Michael Martin.
The changes in the CBI Programme which have been taken under the Drew led Administration present an idea of the efforts put in for this by the minister responsible for Citizenship by Investment Programme of St. Kitts and Nevis, Michael Martin.
Considerably, in the month of March this year, the four OECS jurisdictions offering Citizenship by Investment Programmes agreed to increase the investment threshold. The amount increased is to reach USD 2,00,000 and signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
On this, four nations showed their participation; Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis. This was aimed at enhancing the transparency and integrity of the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Programme.
Significantly, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Drew on this even highlighted that this will foster best practices, due diligence processes. Such an action will enhance the accountability and integrity of the programme and tackle the concerns raised by the international community about the examination of CBI (Citizenship by Investment) Programme.
St. Kitts and Nevis, being an active agent of change, even became the first country to increase the amount of investment under the CBI Programme. Under the administration of CIU Head Michael Martin, the strengthened safety and security through the background checks of investors elevated the standards of the industry.
There have been a major role of Minister Martin through his strategic actions that signlas towards the success of the CBI Programme. All the commitments by the CIU Head offered set to provide support that would diversify the portfolios, has presented a perfect epitome of better leadership.
