St Vincent and The Grenadines get assistance from FAO in the agro-sector

St Vincent: Food Agriculture Organisation of United Nations in the Caribbean stepped out to help St Vincent and The Grenadines in the agriculture sector, including livestock, fishery, rural livelihood and crops.
A discussion held between the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO), Ministry of Housing, Informal Human Settlement, Land and Surveys and Physical Planning, Inter-American Institue for Cooperation of Agriculture Research and Development Institute, SVG Meteorological Service
This was done to enhance emergency preparedness and promotions of anticipatory actions. This also looks for the privately-owned crops, livestock, fisheries and livelihood assets that integrate with the COVID-19 safety protocols.
As the report was submitted by the University of West Indies, Seismic Research Centre of the increasing activity in a volcano on 18th Jan 2021 looked after by ministers on 3rd March 2021 and put it in action before 4 weeks of the devastating eruption of the volcano on 9th April 2021.
The project is stated to protect about 700 livestock during this hazardous eruption. The prepared shelters are capable of maintaining the nutritional status of the crops and keeping them disease-free and healthy throughout the explosions.
Renata Clarke said that a particular amount of working and plannings went into the formulations of the volcano eruption preparedness and emergency response protocols for agriculture, and he applauded all the organizations for their tireless effort and dedication, which contributed to its success and implementation. Their combined efforts now will be focused on the rebuilding of the agricultural sector in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
