St Lucia released new COVID-19 guidelines

The government in St Lucia included new guidelines in which the nationals who are returning should have their Negative PCR COVID-19 test. For those who are fully vaccinated, the government will not order them to be quarantined after their arrival.

According to the government, these rules will be in power till 30 June from Monday. In case to strengthen the vacation campaign on the island.

27,709 people have got their first dose till last Friday, whereas 18,277 have only been fully vaccinated.

The new guidelines also state that the person having licensed liquor can only consume the intoxicant in the licensed place. The sports activities are only permitted indoor, and the conditions for the spectators are that they should be fully vaccinated and have to obey all COVID-19 guidelines.

The competitive sports and other gathering activities must take approval from the health ministry. The nationals who are returning should have their negative COVID-19 PCR test report with them. If the person is fully vaccinated, then he or she will not be quarantined but have to undergo some random test if needed.

“Notwithstanding, the CMO (Chief Medical Officer) retains the power to place visitors in quarantine in order to protect public health,” the statement said, adding that social events with up to 50 fully vaccinated people may be permitted after authorisation through the Ministry of Health.
