St Kitts and Nevis: The perfectly grown watermelon, tomato and sweet pepper seedlings reveal the successful efforts of the authorities of St Kitts and Nevis towards achieving the 25 by 25 Agenda.
The Herbert’s Seedlings partners have revealed its collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture as the part of 25 by 25 agenda. Such a collaboration is the mark to boost crop production by increasing seedling capacity.
The ministry has shared the visual glimpses of the grown products which include watermelon, tomato and sweet pepper.
Trevor Herbert, the owner of Herbert Seedlings in the glimpses, mentioned the well grown crop products. As well mentioned Herbert’s Seedlings is continuously assisting farmers and will be the same.
Just a few days ago, the Ministry of Agriculture announced the distribution of material to the crop farmers that were required. Such commencement now has turned to a step ahead towards its accomplishment. As the distribution aimed at boosting crop production, the results are saying it all.
The 25 by 25 agenda itself was announced with the prime objective of food security which is grounded on reducing the food import bill by 25% by the year 2025. This would contribute a valuable part towards the boost in the economy which directly aligns with the overall growth and development.
The agriculture sector has a significant role in the economic growth after the tourism sector. The income generated through agriculture contributes a remarkable amount that can benefit the country in achieving its sustainable goals.
Considerably, the reduced imports being targeted under the 25 by 25 agenda is a great idea as it holds all the benefits to the local population of the country. Such an act would not only enhance food security and crop production but would also offer reduced cost to the food items to the people of St Kitts and Nevis.
