St Kitts and Nevis supplies 200 tarpaulins and cases of bottled water to Grenada and St Vincent

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The administration of St Kitts and Nevis offered assitance to the sister islands who have been badly impacted due to Hurricane Beryl. They recently sent its first contribution, comprising 200 tarpaulins and a number of cases of bottled water to St Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada.
Notably, the government of St Kitts and Nevis with the help of National Emergency Management Agency prepared a shipment of disaster relief supplies and sent the first contribution via the Captain Hugh Mulzac coast guard vessel of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Along with the aid supplies, a contingent of five security officers was also deployed to assist in the response and recovery efforts in the neighbouring islands.
Dr. Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis shared the glimpses of the items being supplied to the sister island. He noted that these islands have felt the devastating impact of Hurricane Beryl and the Government as well as people of St. Kitts and Nevis stand in solidarity with them.
“The first contribution of disaster relief supplies to our hurricane-impacted sister islands left St. Kitts and Nevis this afternoon via the Captain Hugh Mulzac Coast Guard vessel of St. Vincent and the Grenadines,” noted Dr. Terrance Drew.
Moreover, the leader of the nation also held a significant discussion with his medical doctor colleague from Carriacou, Grenada who informed him about the hospital in the island nation which has been severely damaged due to the devastating effects of Hurricane Beryl.
PM Drew remarked that this scenario reinforces the need for a climate-smart hospital, which means a hospital that can withstand all these types of hurricanes. He further asserted that St Kitts and Nevis is working on it feverishly and for the same he extended gratitude to Ambassador, Leon Natta Nelson for his dedicated effort to turn this into a reality.
The Prime Minister stated that this project is of critical importance to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis as it would play the significant role during the tough times of natural calamities. He further added that he chose the Ambassador for this project because of his hard-working spirit and no-nonsense attitude when it comes to delivering the people.
PM Drew also extended gratitude to Taiwan for their highly valued partnership in the national development and for their significant input towards betterment of St. Kitts and Nevis.
