St Kitts and Nevis has continued to mark significant milestones in the tourism sector as they registered an unprecedented growth of 21.6% in the stay-over and cruise arrivals by the end of September, 2024. The country welcomed around 118,574 visitors, marking a huge development towards their agenda of making St Kitts and Nevis, a premier tourism destination for all the travellers.
This data was unveiled by the Minister of Tourism of St Kitts and Nevis, Marsha Henderson during a recent press conference. While shedding light on the data, she stated that the island nation has been making several efforts, like expanding flight services, exciting cruise developments and many more in order to welcome a large number of international tourists to the country.
She also appreciated her team, stakeholders and the local community for their constant support for the development of their tourism industry.
Development in Cruise Tourism
During the conference, the Tourism Minister Marsha Henderson also highlighted the massive growth registered by them in their cruise season 2023-24. As per the data, the island nation welcomed around 670,014 passengers to the shores of the country.
This figure has surpassed all their previous records, marking a notable increase in the arrival of visitors by spending around $145 per visitor in contrast to $135 in 2018. As per the report shared by Business Research and Economic Advisors (BREA), St Kitts and Nevis claimed the third spot in the rankings of the top ten destinations for average visitors spend.
The tourism minister also emphasised on their vision to welcome over 1 million passengers in the cruise season 2024-25 to the shores of the country. As per the details, the authorities are marking the cruise calls by 391 vessels, projecting 22% increase.
Also, St Kitts and Nevis will mark the arrival of the much-awaited Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Season 11th September, 2025, aiming to mark a historic milestone for the destination.
Busy Winter Season for St Kitts and Nevis
The authorities of St Kitts and Nevis are also expected to welcome thousands of visitors to the country, with the additional flight services introduced by several airlines. As per the details, Cape Air is all set to offer its direct flight services from St. Thomas to St Kitts, effective from 7th December, 2024.
Along with that, Delta Airlines will also restart its non-stop services from JFK to St Kitts and Nevis. These services will be offered by the airline from 21st December, 2024 to 26th April, 2025. St Kitts and Nevis has recently also celebrated their 20 years of non-stop services from Miami to St Kitts and Nevis.
The tourism authority of St Kitts and Nevis said that they are on a steady path towards making St Kitts and Nevis, a premier destination for all its travellers.
