St Kitts and Nevis: The technical assistance for women’s employment, entrepreneurship and financial inclusion have announced the “Women’s Empowerment Initiative Contest”.
As per the official statement, the objective of the Women’s Empowerment Initiative Contest “is to promote and highlight grassroots initiative designs to promote women empowerment through education, training and professional development; enterprise development and equality promotion through community initiatives and advocacy.”
The government stated that the target population for the contest is –
– NGOs registered with the Financial Service Regulatory Commission
-Community based non-profit organisations registered with a Government Ministry or Department in St Kitts and Nevis.
The government of St Kitts and Nevis has announced the submission proposal, which states that “A hard copy of each proposal is to be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Ministry of Social Development and Gender Affairs by 4 pm on March 25, 2022.”
“An electronic copy of each proposal is to be submitted to the Taiwanese Technical Mission,” it further added.
The government has further stated that The Department of Gender Affairs will organise the mandatory “Info Session” and logistics of that will be announced soon.
While informing about the applicants’ deadlines, the official notice mentioned that the first call would be between February 11, 2022, and March 25, 2022. However, the second call will be from April 4 to May 27, 2022.
The government of St Kitts and Nevis has been strictly working towards the upliftment of women in the region. Recently, to mark the occasion of International Women’s Day 2022, Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris presented the women farmers and vendors for their contribution to the agricultural field.
While sharing the updates, PM Harris stated, “So proud of the women in our nation. #internationalwomensday was a perfect opportunity to recognise their achievements and to demonstrate how we’re #BreakingtheBias”.
