He continued, “The world has been changing at a pace and technology is transforming everyone’s lives in a way that wasn’t anticipated five years ago. Therefore, our diplomacy has to be focused, nimble, creative, and responsive.”
It is worth noting that the government of St Kitts and Nevis has been working to strengthen the relationship with the Republic of Ireland, a member of European Union, to deepen their international partnerships.
The new Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Strategy 2025 of Ireland was also welcomed by Foreign Minister Douglas. The diplomatic relations holds immense importance as Ireland is the largest exporters of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, software-related goods and services.
In addition to this, Foreign Minister Douglas congratulated High Commissioner Kevin Issac for recently granting an audience of Maha Vajiralongkorn, where he presented Credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of St Kitts and Nevis to the Kingdom of Thailand.
Dr Douglas outlined, “It’s really important for our country to make diplomatic ties with different countries, strengthen our relationships with them, and form practical partnerships that can help us achieve our goals. Thailand is really good at things like being welcoming to visitors, medical tourism, and promoting good health and well-being. We plan to work closely with both the government and private companies in Thailand to improve the services we offer in St. Kitts and Nevis, so that we can be more competitive.”
