St Kitts and Nevis: The Health Ministry of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis has recently announced that one of the male patient has committed suicide.
As per the announcement by the Ministry, the patient was admitted to the Psychiatric Ward of the Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment.
This incident was condemned by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health of the Federation – Dr Terrance Drew and highlighted that such act should not occur in the country.
The staff at the Ministry of Health and the staff of the Joseph N France General Hospital also offered full condolences and support to the family and loved ones of the deceased patient at this trying time.
The Ministry of Health and the entire health workforce are profoundly saddened by this tragic event. The family of the patient has been informed of the incident. The matter will be investigated by the police.
According to the information shared by the Saint Christopher and Nevis Police Service, the person who committed suicide was mentally-ill and was dealing with some mental issues.
The police has stated that the male patient was identified as Psychiatric Prisoner Jahdell Browne.
