Secondary School Netball Championship in Dominica

Secondary Schools Netball Championship commenced in Dominica on Friday, 10th November 2023. The matches were played at Windsor Park Stadium, in Roseau.

The championship has been organised by the Sports division in the Ministry of Culture, Youth, Sports and Community Development, Dominica.

On Monday, the match was played between:

 Dominica State College and Dominica Grammar School, in which the DSC secured victory with the points of 51-4.

The players who netted goals for DSC were:

– Talisa St. Louis, he scored 19 goals in 29 attempts.

– Tkeyah Robin netted 28 goals in 39 attempts.

– Abigail Toussaint scored 3 out of 9 attempts.

– Alisha Desiree netted 1 goal out of 8 attempts.

For DGS, the goals were scored by the players, namely:

– Rochelle Marshall scored three goals out of 5 attempts.

– Rebecca Parillon netted 1 goal in just one attempt.

The game will continue the next day, Tuesday 14th November 2023, at two different venues:

At Isaiah Thomas Secondary School: The match will be played between Isaiah Thomas Secondary School and Convent High School at 3:00 pm.

The next match will be played at a different venue at Marigot:

The first match will be played between North East Comprehensive School and Castle Bruce Secondary School Under 16. The match will begin at 2:30 pm.

The next game will be conducted between North East Comprehensive School and Castle Burce Secondary School Under 20. The match will take place from 3:30 pm.

Moreover, the tournament began on Friday, 10th November 2023 and five matches were played at the opening ceremony of the Netball Championship.

The first match was played between Convent High School and Wesley High School Under 16. CHS won over WHS with scores 62-0. The match was started at 3:00 pm in court 1.

Portsmouth Secondary School competed against Castle Bruce Secondary School in the second game conducted on 10th November 2023. The match was won by PSS with goals of 22-18.

The third match was played amongst the Under 20 category players; the match was played between Convent High School and Wesley High School. CHS won the game by scoring 46 goals and beat WHS by 43 goals. The match was begun at 4:00 pm in court 1.

Portsmouth Secondary School defeated Castle Bruce Secondary School in the fourth match played on the opening day of the Secondary School Netball Championship.

The fifth match was supposed to be conducted between Dominica State College and Academix Under 20 at 5 pm. However, the match was postponed due to power outage.
