Nevis: Premier Mark Brantley extends speedy recovery to the former President of America, Donald Trump and called this act of violence “disgusting.” He asked all his citizens to pray for the well-being of the former leader.
Notably, the Republican nominee for the presidential election, Donald Trump was shot and injured in an assassination attempt on Saturday night while he was speaking at an election rally in Pennsylvania.
While extending condolences on this act, Premier Brantley stated that politics like religion can be very emotive and injecting violence creates a powder keg and the consequences of which can be far reaching and disastrous.
“My prayers are with former President Donald Trump for his full and speedy recovery,” noted Premier Mark Brantley.
He further asked all his countrymen to condemn this act of violence and pray that there is no escalation and that the great United States of America can moderate its politics and its rhetoric going forward.
Moreover, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew also extended condolences on this act of violence and stated that it has deeply saddened him. He further noted that violence and hate have no place in this world and he truly condemn this heinous act in the strongest possible terms. The leader of the nation stated that his thoughts and prayers are with the former President Trump and his family and wished for his speedy recovery.
“I am deeply saddened to hear about the attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump,” noted Dr Terrance Drew.
Also, the current President of United States of America, Joe Bidem shared his thoughts on this act and noted that violence can not be normalised in the country. However, he added that the former leader was attacked while exercising his freedom of speech and expression. Therefore, he requested all his countrymen to calm down the political temperature in the nation. He also stated that they resolve their differences at the ballot box not with the bullets.
