PM Terrance Drew honoured 13 individuals for contributing to Nation-Building
PM Terrance Drew honoured 13 exemplary nations of St Kitts and Nevis for their outstanding contribution in the nation-building at Government House.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew recognized and honoured 13 exemplary nationals in the 2023 National Honours Awards for their exceptional contribution to the development of the Federation.
The Investiture Ceremony was held by the Governor-General, Dame Marcella Liburd, on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Government House.
PM Drew congratulated this year’s recipients of the Companion of the Star of Merit, who were initially honoured on National Heroes Day on September 16, 2023, for long and meritorious service or loyal and devoted service to the nation.
Those who were awarded on National Heroes Day are as follows,
– Ima Stanley (Nursing)
– Daniel Arthurton (Agriculture, Farming and Small Business Development)
– Carmen Ward (Education)
– Ian Queeley (Law Enforcement)
– Prisca Hyligar (Education and Religion)
– Ingrid Berridge (Education)
– Dr Osbert Liburd (Agro-Business, Corporate Business and Diplomacy)
– Avril Noel (Education)
– Peter Taylor (Social Security)
– Cynthia Williams (Education)
– Mitchell Slader (Trade Unionism/Labour Relations)
– Eldora Samuel (Education)
– Peter Jenkins (Sports and Community Activism
The Prime Minister extended his happiness for the tremendous work that they have done throughout the years and the impact they have made in the development of the nation.
“It is a deep love, hard work and dedication to the common good that propel you into service to your nation that defines who you are”, PM Drew added while extending his gratefulness to the great heroes of St Kitts and Nevis.
He further reflected on a statement about how great individuals sow seeds for future generations by understanding that they may not personally benefit from their efforts.
PM Drew emphasized this trait in the award recipient and called for a standing ovation to appreciate and cherish their contributions.
The leader of St Kitts and Nation expressed his wish for the nation to consistently acknowledge and value those who have played a vital role in the development of the nation, especially considering its status as a young nation.
The invaluable contributions of these men and women across the various fields who have given much more than they have received and offered their utmost for the country’s growth should admired.
The Medal of Honour recipient was awarded at a ceremony on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
