PM Terrance Drew counts accomplishments of SKNLP during 91st Anniversary Annual National Conference

Dr Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, has recently counted the accomplishments of the St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP), which has been providing service for around 91 years.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Dr Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, has recently counted the accomplishments of the St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP), which has been providing service for around 91 years.

While recounting the achievements, PM Dr Drew reaffirmed the motto of the political party – “For the good that we can do”. During the SKNLP 91st Anniversary Annual National Conference, PM Terrance Drew assured that the SKNLP-led administration would continue to work for the upliftment and betterment of every citizen of St Kitts and Nevis.

The event was attended by the conference delegates, party supporters, members of the Diplomatic and Consular Crops as well as representatives of local organisations. He noted that he made his first decision after a few hours of swearing in as the PM of St Kitts and Nevis on August 6, 2022. He emphasised that the first decision taken was to lift several COVID-19 restrictions and move to the path of normalcy.

He stated, “On August 7 2022, we opened up St Kitts and Nevis. We understood that we could not allow the economy of St Kitts and Nevis to fail because not only will the economy suffer, but the people as well.”

He further highlighted that he himself and all the leaders of SKNLP is working to keep each and every promise made during the campaign in the August 2022 general elections.

Following this, he mentioned that he highlighted about the citizenship by investment programme and stated that St Kitts and Nevis was the first government in the Western Hemisphere to introduce such an initiative.

He also outlined that the government has worked to reduce the interest on the student loans from the Development Bank of St Kitts and Nevis to five percent. It is worth noting that the interest will be reduced from 9 percent to 5 percent.
