PM Terrance Drew congratulates Dr Roosevelt Skerrit for becoming PM of Dominica for sixth time

Dr Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis shared his heartfelt wishes to Dominican Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit for winning the snap general elections for the sixth consecutive time.

St Kitts and Nevis: Dr Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis shared his heartfelt wishes to Dominican Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit for winning the snap general elections for the sixth consecutive time.

While extending his great wishes towards the Dominican Government, PM Drew stated that he is glad to extend his heartiest congratulations on behalf of the people as well as the government of the Federation. The congratulations were shared after Prime Minister Skerrit-led DLP won 19 seats in 21 seats in the snap general elections held on December 6, 2022.

He further asserted that this victory shows that the people of Dominica have trust in Dr Skerrit as a leader. “PM Skerrit has made a mark not only nationally but also internationally for your hands-on leadership abilities,” he said.

“During your chairmanship of the CARICOM and the OECS, you made your mark during periods when the region and the world were faced with economic challenges and helped our region to overcome with confidence,” PM Terrance Drew stated while praising PM Roosevelt Skerrit.

Prime Minister Drew also outlined that it is the ‘dedicated leadership’ of PM Skerrit which acted as a bridge between the predominantly Spanish-speaking Latin American region and the predominantly English-speaking Caribbean region. As per the statement by PM Drew, PM Skerrit has earned the trust as well as the faith of the people of the Commonwealth of Dominica, which is depicted by the continuous winning of the Dominica Labour Party and its leader (Dr Roosevelt Skerrit).

He added that it is PM Skerrit’s willingness to embrace innovative thinking and future plans for Dominica.

“It brings me great pleasure to extend congratulations to you and the Dominica Labour Party on your success. I pray that God grants you continued guidance, protection, and wisdom as you lead your people and country,” he added.
