By symbolizing good leadership qualities, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, addressed the recent and deeply troubling incident that took place in Upper Monkey Hill, St Peters.
He called it an alarming situation and took to his official Facebook handle to express his deep sadness regarding this terrifying incident.
Notably, the three young men fell victim to an act of senseless violence. PM Drew extended his deepest condolences to the families of the two young men who terribly lost their lives.
As soon as the Prime Minister learnt about this incident, he drew up all his birthday celebrations and personally visited the families and loved ones of the victims.
Notably, before addressing the general public, he independently engaged with the affected community.
It is to be added in the remarks of the leader of St Kitts and Nevis that the Government is committed to taking all the possible measures within its boundaries to put an end to such violence as he assured a safe environment for its citizens.
“I also extend my heartfelt condolences to all citizens and residents across the nation who may have been affected, and I want to assure our citizens and residents that the Government is committed to taking all necessary measures within its power to put an end to such behaviour”, PM Drew commented while addressing the nation.
He strictly condemns these acts of violence that have become too extensive in every community. Notably, the loss of these propitious lives is a clear-cut reminder of the urgent need for collective action to address the root cause of similar incidents.
The Prime Minister urges the young men who indulge themselves in the web of violence to reconsider the path they are on. He endorsed them to put down the guns and embrace a future that holds positivity and promise.
He further stated that currently, the country mourns the loss of favourable, and they cannot afford these senseless acts, defining their collective destiny as such stances of violence showcasing the bad side of any nation.
Additionally, PM Drew advocated all to unite against violence and work together to build a society where youth can flourish and thrive on a positive and right path.
By this exercise, he is looking forward to promoting compassion, understanding, and community building among the nation’s natives.
All in all, in memory of the lives, lost and in solidarity with those who were affected by this incident, the entire nation is expected to stand together against gun crimes, as it is their collaborative responsibility to create an environment where peace and security prevail.
