PM Terrance Drew assesses rehabilitation work during his visit to Cayon High School

St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew visited the Cayon High School to witness the ongoing construction work and to get recent updates on the project. This marks his second visit to the school this month.

PM Terrance Drew shared a glimpse of his visit over his official social media, where he was seen engaging with construction workers, school authorities, and others present at the construction site to deeply assess the ongoing repair work.

The Prime Minister also paid a visit to the construction site on 6^th September to get an update and regularly visits the construction site to make sure the building has a timely completion.

In his post, he stated, “We will invest whatever is necessary to ensure that the environment is safe for all.” He said this while highlighting that the government is making every effort to ensure the students will have access to each an every facility.

Notably, during the Prime Minister’s last visit, the paintwork was underway which now has been concluded for most of the major parts of the school. However, installation of windows and Doorways is still going on.

PM Terrance Drew inspected the work done at the site to ensure every facility meets certain quality and standards. The authorities notably spent thousands of dollars late last month to install all the new infrastructure in the school.

This is to be noted that, the Graffiti and School Murals are still under process and are anticipated to conclude soon. The school with all the new installments, is all set to welcome the young minds for the approaching academic year.

Apart from this, the government has also been working on many other projects including the development of Basseterre High School. The school has been planned to get a modern makeover with a new and well-equipped campus.

The authorities have also removed the import duties on school supplies and reduced the interest on student loans from 9% to 5% at the Development Bank.

These efforts by the government will aid a better study environment for the students, providing them with each and every facility with bearable costs.
