Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves of St Vincent and the Grenadines made his intentions to ensure that the Unity Labour Party (ULP) comes to power for a sixth term as the general election draw closer. He gave his perspective on the matter the Unity Labour Party (ULP) carried out a rally to celebrate 23 years, serving the nation.

Gonsalves mentioned many facets of the party’s governance, highlighting the progress made by St Vincent and the Grenadines under its guidance. He also warned supporters that if the ULP does not manage to come to power for another term, the progress could be cancelled out.

Thus, it is Prime Minister Gonsalves’s firm belief that the nation must allow the ULP to come to power once again to consolidate the gains that St Vincent and the Grenadines has made and allow the nation to continue along this path.

He told supporters to stick with the ULP as it is the most stable and democratically inclined option available to the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Questions have been raised about Gonsalves’s age by the opposition, since he is 77years old now. According to him though, even though he is indeed old, he still has a young and spritely mind.

The party, its supporters and leaders spent Sunday night celebrating the ULP’s 23rd anniversary at Arnos Vale Tarmac, where the mood was jolly, as everyone celebrated by singing and dancing the night away.

The stage was graced by many of the nation’s favourite performers and they were joined by Prime Minister Gonsalves who was at the center of the festivities.

Prime Minister Gonsalves is currently in his fifth consecutive term as the leader of the nation and has seen the ULP remain in power since the 2001 general elections. This event is an important one as the nation approaches the next election, slated to be held in 2025.
