St Kitts and Nevis: Old Road Fish Depot is one of the renowned places in St Kitts and Nevis that offers fresh, locally caught fish. The Minister of Agriculture, St Kitts and Nevis shared information with the public about the reopening of the Old Road Fisheries which has now been transformed into the Old Road Fish Depot.
The Old Road Fish Depot is situated alongside Ms Francella Stephens who is the true legend in the area and fishing community. Such an opening in St Kitts and Nevis marks a new era of fishing.
“We turned a new chapter in our fishing industry! We have successfully eased the burdens of our hardworking fisherfolk by providing a central hub for purchasing, cleaning and packaging for fish,” mentioned Samal Duggins, the Agriculture Minister of St Kitts and Nevis.
The Minister highlighted that the fish depot was reopened on March 1, 2024. And, with this, it has come out that the people from St Kitts and Nevis will get the best and locally caught in their own country.
“Fresh fish, anyone? Come and ‘Get these Gar!” mentioned the Minister.
The Agriculture Minister even shared some of the glimpses from the opening ceremony of Old Road Fish Depot. The joy while cutting the ribbon for the commemoration of the event as well states the sign of a step towards the betterment of the country.
