The Tourism Authority of Antigua and Barbuda has unveiled the nominees for the Antigua and Barbuda Best Pepperpot and Fungee Competition. The winner of the competition will get an opportunity to be featured in the Tourism Authority’s marketing efforts for the island nation.

Antigua and Barbuda: The Tourism Authority of Antigua and Barbuda has unveiled the nominees for the Antigua and Barbuda Best Pepperpot and Fungee Competition. The winner of the competition will get an opportunity to be featured in the Tourism Authority’s marketing efforts for the island nation.

The selected nominees have displayed the rich flavours of the island nation through their culinary skills. They have not only satisfied their visitors but have also mastered the art of preparing the national dish of the island nation.

The nominees for the Best Pepperpot and Fungee Competition include:

  •  Bishop’s Kitchen, located in Barnes Hill, served on Thursdays
  • Sips and Tips, located in North Walk Commercial Complex, Weatherills Main Road served on Tuesdays
  • LaToya’s Local Cuisine located west of CIBC First Caribbean Bank on Old Parham Rd, served on Wednesdays
  • Catering4U, located at Buckleys School Playing Field, served weekly
  • Smiling Harry’s, located at Half Moon Bay, served on Thursdays
  • Joe Mike’s, located on the corner of Corn Alley and Nevis Street, served on Fridays
  • Boundary Bites located at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium served weekly

Pepperpot and Fungee, the national dish of the country highlights the importance of the vibrant culture and traditions of Antigua and Barbuda. Therefore, the tourism authority has promised to continue celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the island nation through their cuisines.

Moreover, the winner of the competition will be declared in the month of May. A panel of national and international chefs and cultural food personalities will judge the competition and will give their judgements accordingly. The winning spot will get an opportunity to promote the local fare of Antigua and Barbuda through their mastery of the dish.

The Antigua and Barbuda Restaurant Week is all set to conclude on 19th May 2024. In this 2nd edition, a total of 65 restaurants featured diverse local cuisines, exciting menus and special dining experiences to take all the food enthusiasts on an unforgettable ride.
