The Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Central proposed the construction of the old Scouts/Girl Guides on High street, new houses for the association members and a multi-purpose facility.

“The Roseau Central MP has proposed the construction of a multi-purpose facility on the site of the old Scouts/Girl Guides Centre on High Street to house new offices for the associations,” a post by Prime Minister read.

“The proposed facility will provide space for a wood workshop and other skills training programmes, arts and craft workshop and also serve as a costume design and construction hub,” the Prime Minister further stated.

Prime Minister Skerrit and Melissa Skerrit also stopped at the former Dominica Club on High Street, where the Government proposed the reconstruction of the tennis courts, including other initiatives to bring economic activity to the area.

This proposed idea was welcomed by the residents of Dominica, and they praised the administration for taking steps for the betterment of the residents.

While praising the Government, the residents said, “Great job Prime Minister and first lady,” yet another wrote, “Boy Scouts and Girl Guides help to keep the youth occupied and focused and away from undesired behaviour”. The third one praised and stated, “Great idea! We need spaces for young people to learn skills. The tennis court on the high street could definitely be looked at for further enhancement.”
