The police in Antigua and Barbuda are searching for a 34-year-old man, suspected of murdering a woman, a mother of four on Saturday, in the capital, St John’s.
The incident happened at Tanner Street shortly before 10 pm.
The police said that Simone Whyte-Barrington was at the Hitachi Building the suspect approached her and attacked her with a knife.
Whyte-Barrington received multiple stab wounds before the suspect slashed her throat.
The victim was a hairdresser, and she had moved reportedly to Antigua from Jamaica around three years ago.
Whyte-Barrington was a mother of four children.
Police said that Whyte-Barrington and the attacker were in a relationship.
Her family and friends used social media on Sunday to express their grief.
Synovia Barrington posted a video tribute to her mother, who was to celebrate her birthday on November 17.
