The mother has been identified as 42-year-old Alicia Edmonson and her son has been identified as 22-year-old Malachi Kennedy, the resident of Lot 3 Perry Street, Tucville, Georgetown. The victim has been recognised as 36-year-old Amaiziah Hohenkirk.
As per the details shared by the authorities, Alicia and one of her sons, who is a 24-year-old had some misunderstanding with the deceased over a speaker box that was damaged. Notably, the 24-year-old son of Alicia and the deceased were friends of each other.
Subsequently, the mother, Alicia, informed the other victim, her younger son Malachi Kennedy, about the altercation. Meanwhile, the other son, Malachi, went on a hunt to find Amaiziah Hohenkirk. While searching, he found out the victim was standing along with a person named Sean, their meeting again led to a heated argument between the two.
Following the argument, Sean and the victim reached Alicia’s premises for the confrontation. As per the reports, Sean brought a hockey stick along with him which he struck on Alicia’s left wrist. As a result of this, Alicia took a knife and stabbed Amaiziah Hohenkirk in the abdomen and on his left and right wrists.
This dispute resulted in severe injuries to the victim, so he ran away along with his friend Sean and proceeded to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where the doctors on duty examined him thoroughly, and he died while undergoing medical treatment.
The mother and son were arrested and appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate Court on Monday, where they were both remanded to prison until 7 May 2024.
