St Kitts and Nevis: Minister of Culture, Jonel Powell, has hailed several community leaders in St Kitts for performing a number of drives that illustrate the spirit of goodwill and compassion generally associated with the Christmas season.
At the occasion of the three-night “In the Spirit of Christmas” presentation on Monday (December 07, 2020), Minister Powell quoted II Corinthians 9:7 which says “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of the necessity for God loves a cheerful giver.”
He stated that the Bible fittingly catches the distribution of more than 5,000 lunches by Ernest Amory of Amory Enterprises in mid-November. The lunches were presented to the general public as a goodwill sign in remembrance of Mr Amory’s birth anniveresary.
Minister Powell also stated the gesture by entrepreneurs Carlton Dupont and Robelto ‘Tango’ Glasgow, that “held their hands into their own pockets to buy a home constructed for a young lady and her family” in Sandy Point.
“Let us carry whatever we can to make a big smile on their faces for Christmas,” he said, asking further donations for the family.
The minister also asked individuals to gather to help other persons in need such as Keithlyn Bergan and family of Sandy Point, who suffered a loss of everything in a home fire previous month.
“Well done, all who contributed and who will contribute,” Minister Powell said.
“In the Spirit of Christmas” is occurring under the subject “Our Hope is in You.” The three-night presentation highlights music, song, and dance from several performers. The contest is happening at the Antioch Baptist Church at Lime Kiln to adhere to the COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
