Mervin Amedee charged with armed robbery by Saint Lucia Police

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force charged 54-year-old Mervin Amedee, a resident of La Croix, Babonneau. The suspect was arrested for the offence of Robbery and for using an imitation firearm to commit robbery. It is to be noted that the incident took place at Bocage, Castries.

Notably, the Criminal Investigation Department of the island nation received a report about an incident on Tuesday, 9th January 2024, at around 12:15 pm.

As soon as the officers received the report, they immediately responded to the matter by visiting the crime spot. The official’s unwavering commitment and dedication resulted in the arrest of a suspect.

It is to be further added that the suspect was charged on Thursday, 11th January 2024, for the offences he committed. During the arrest, the authorities have also seized a firearm from the suspect.

While not revealing many details on this case, the authorities have ensured that once the investigation leads to any conclusion, all the information on the case will be released publicly.

Moreover, the suspect was taken to the First District Court in Castries for the purpose of bail. However, the magistrate stated that the bail would be granted to Mervin Amedee under the fulfilment of certain conditions. The conditions include,

– The suspect had to pay fifteen thousand dollars (XCD15000.00) in cash

– Or with suitable surety or land documents

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has assured the citizens of the nation that police are working towards putting some measures in effect that will help control the crime rate. The Police force has also reassured the safety and security of the citizens of the island nation.

Along with that, the authorities have appreciated the residents of the community for their continuous support in helping the officers by providing them with the information. The officials have also made an appeal to the citizens for the future to assist them by providing the information needed in order to help them solve crime cases.
