St Kitts and Nevis: The January Edition of “Meet the Artist” will come to life with Mavis Parris in Nevis at the Museum Gift Shop, Hamilton Museum, on January 30, 2024 (Tuesday) in the evening starting from 4:30 pm.
This edition will feature Mavis Parris, who has specialized in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) for 16 years and is a teacher at Charlestown Secondary School.
She will showcase a line of repurposed bags made from jeans, costume earrings and a children’s clothing collection. The special feature of this clothing collection is that it is named after Vicki Knorr, who is the owner of the Old Manor Hotel.
Moreover, the materials used in the items are of fine quality. Mavis Parris, as an artist, carefully selects all the materials, keeping island motifs in mind, such as bees, chickens, animals, sailing ships, and others. The use of such materials adds to the unique design of her products.
This event also provides an opportunity to learn more from Mavis. Interestingly, a large collection of antiques will be for sale. All new Alexander Hamilton Merchandise is in the Museum Gift shop.
Additionally, the entertainment will offered as The Cafe des Arts Nevis is open at the museum grounds.
This promises a fun-filled evening that should not be missed. The cafe will host Burger Night, and those wishing to participate can reserve their seats with The Cafe des Arts Nevis.
Considerably, 10% of the discount will be available on gift shop purchases for the members, and the antiques will not be included in the discount items. The sale initiative is directed towards safeguarding Nevis’ cultural and natural heritage. Also, it commits the dedication of NHCS (Nevis Historical and Conservation Society) and the authority as a whole towards preserving the national heritage.
