The Laluna Boutique Hotel & Villas of Grenada raised XCD $110,000 through their “Double Your Impact” Initiative. The donation is collected with the generosity of guests and friends and will play a huge role in providing relief funds to the affected communities of Hurricane Beryl 2024.
Through this, “Double Your Impact” initiative, the authorities of the Villa invited past guests and friends to contribute, pledging to match 100% of all donations received.
Since the launch of the initiative, the Laluna Boutique Hotel & Villas noted that they received very overwhelming response and managed to successfully raised more than XCD $55,000 in donations.
While shedding light on the collected donations, the owner of Laluna Boutique Hotel and Villa, Bernardo Bertucci stated that they are truly grateful to their guests and friends for their incredible support.
He noted that this matching contribution from the hotel means that over XCD $110,000 will be directed towards hurricane relief efforts, providing much-needed assistance to those impacted by Hurricane Beryl.
Following the collection of such large number of donations, the management of Laluna conducted several consultations with the officers of Government. And, through those discussions, the government decided to utilize the funds raised to provide assistance to young students from the sister islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique to ensure they can successfully continue their education in Grenada.
While emphasising on this support, the government asserted that it will help people recover from the immediate impacts of the hurricane and to focus on their academic goals. This assistance will be provided to the affected students for the entire 2024/25 school year which also involves support for paying for accommodation in Grenada, food, books and other school supplies.
Laluna Boutique Hotel & Villas opened in December 2000, almost 24 years ago, and offers a unique and unparalleled experience for guests seeking a memorable holiday. It is a romantic escape set on a hillside overlooking one of Grenada’s most secluded, white-sand beaches.
The property takes pride in its beach-chic cottages, which sit alongside its beach yoga pavilion, an Asian spa, and a restaurant, creating a unique fusion for a perfect holiday.
Moreover, the Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell who received the cheque by the owners on behalf of the Government of Grenada also expressed gratitude to the management and lauded the Laluna family for taking this great initiative.
“Our sincere gratitude to the entire Laluna family, Bernardo and Wendy Bertucci for taking this “Double your Impact” Initiative,” noted PM Dickon Mitchell.
The Prime Minister added that the students who will benefit from this kind gesture will be truly grateful for this generous help and will work hard towards their brighter and prosperous future. He also extended gratitude to the owners for their support in these challenging times and for providing a helping hand for the welfare of their citizens.
