Keith Rowley arrives at Guyana for energy conference and 46th CARICOM meeting

PM Keith Rowley is travelling to Guyana to participate in Guyana’s Energy Conference and Supply Expo 2024 at Marriott Hotel in Georgetown.

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: Prime Minister Keith Rowley has traveled to Guyana to participate in Guyana’s Energy Conference and Supply Expo 2024 at the Marriott Hotel in Georgetown. The event is organized under the theme, “Fuelling Transformation and Modernisation.”

The conference is taking place from February 19-22 and is being attended by energy professionals from across the globe.

It is to be noted that Rowley will be delivering the opening address at the ceremony. He will be accompanied by the Minister of Energy and Energy Industries- Stuart Young at the conference.

Further, the Prime Minister of Guyana- Irfaan Ali hosted a reception and expressed his delight and excitement to welcome the participants in the event. The energy conference and supply expo 2024 is hosted by National Energy of T&T, on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries.

The ceremony will feature various topics of concern such as strategies for the advancement of the energy sector, and the exchange of innovative ideas and proposals to benefit both countries.

Notably, the meeting is organized to support the efforts of the Government of T&T in promoting regional energy security.

While staying in Guyana, the prime minister will also pay his presence at the 46th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) with other regional leaders along with Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs- Dr Amery Browne.

The CARICOM meeting will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas between the renowned Caribbean Leaders. Moreover, the officials will engage in talks regarding Food and Nutrition Security, CARICOM Single Market and Economy, Energy Security, Regional Security and Climate Resilience.

Moreover, the third edition of the energy conference will attract participation at the highest level from more than 21 countries and will see the involvement of 19 sectors from outside of the energy sector.

As Prime Minister Rowley will be in Guyana, the Minister of Finance- Colm Imbert will act as Prime Minister of T&T until the return of Rowley.

The people of Guyana expressed their joy and happiness for the conference as it is expected to bring positive outcomes and result in stronger ties between both countries.

While reacting to the news, a person named Firosh Abdoelaziz Furosh commented, “The best press of the caribbean may Allah bless him and his familie for the good job what he do for his country Guyana.”
