From the Kalinago Territory to stadiums worldwide, Hodge’s dedication has become a huge source of inspiration for every aspiring sportsperson. His perseverance has made the entire nation proud, and therefore, they promised to stand by him as he continues to represent Dominica on the global stage.

While sharing the glimpses of his welcoming ceremony, Kavem Hodge extended gratitude to all his community members for such warm welcome. He stated that words can’t explain how grateful he is for this heartfelt gesture by his village.

He noted that this welcoming ceremony has been emotional and inspiring for him and promised to work even hard in order to elevate Dominica’s sports sector to greater heights.

“Thank you so much to all the companies and individuals who made this wonderful day possible,” noted Kavem Hodge.

Notably, Kavem Hodge scored his maiden century in the 2nd test match against England in Nottingham. His century made him the first West Indies batter to score a test ton in England since 2017.

His century was also lauded by the Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, who called him a phenomenal example of perseverance and dedication. On that day, Kavem Hodge formed a strong partnership of 175 runs with Alick Athanaze, scoring 82 runs.

Though the player showcased his destructive and electrifying inning, West Indies was still not able to win the game. They lost the series by 3-0, with England winning the first match by 114 runs, second by 241 runs and third by 10 wickets.

However, this loss didn’t breakdown the spirit of Kavem Hodge and he was determined to continue to deliver excellent performance for his team. He also extended gratitude to all his community members for giving him such a memorable welcome.
