Jeremiah Louis to replace Sherfane Rutherford in SKN Patriots for remaining CPL 2024

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots picked Jeremiah Louis as a replacement of Sherfane Rutherford for the remaining Caribbean Premier League 2024. He is all set to reunite with his younger brother, Mikyle Louis and is aiming to position the team at a better position in the points table.

While extending congratulations to Jeremiah Louis for his selection, the Minister of Sports of St Kitts and Nevis, Samal Duggins stated that he is extremely proud of Louis on joining his brother Mikyle with the SKN Patriots.

He stated that this platform is an exciting moment for the local talent to showcase their abilities, skills and techniques. He further added that seeing two brothers representing St. Kitts and Nevis on the regional stage is a reflection of the strength and dedication of the athletes towards elevating sports sector of the country to greater heights.

Minister Samal Duggins also extended best wishes to Jeremiah as he steps up to make his mark on the field. As, currently St Kitts and Nevis Patriots are rooted to the bottom of the Caribbean Premier League 2024 points table with just a single win in seven games.

Therefore, the addition of Jeremiah Louis to the team has brought a slight ray of hope among the citizens of the island nation that his inclusion would positively benefit the team towards its growth and development.

As Jeremiah had already played six CPL games between 2016 and 2022, therefore, the owners of the team have also expressed optimism about the scope of improving the team’s position at the points table. In his CPL career, Jeremiah has picked three wickets at an average rate of 38.66 and an economy rate of 9.66.

Moreover, Jeremiah recently got a call from the West Indies team for the test series against England. However, he was not able to participate after being ruled out from the series due to an injury. Now, he has now got an opportunity to prove his talent, as this time, he has come in as a replacement for a player who had to withdraw from the tournament due to personal reasons.

Also, Mikyle Louis, who has been showcasing his exceptional performances with the bat in his debut season of CPL would also get a huge boost in his confidence with the presence of his brother in the team. Mikyle is currently the third highest run scorer in CPL 2024 for SKN Patriots after Evin Lewis (191) and Kyle Mayers (204).

Mikyle has scored 187 runs in five games at an average of 37.40 and strike rate of 155.83. While shedding light on his brother, Mikyle stated Jeremiah has influenced him in several ways. He stated that even a little conversation with him boosts his self-confidence and gives him a hope and self-belief.

The St Kitts and Nevis Patriots extended welcome to the player by sharing his picture on their official social media page and stated “Jeremiah Louis is now part of the Patriots family as our newest bowler. Get ready for some exciting performances this CPL season!”

Also, Jeremiah’s addition can play a significant role in pacing attack, which has been struggling throughout the season.
