Jamaica set to host 7th Blue Mountain Coffee Festival

Jamaica: The Ministry of Tourism of Jamaica is all set to host its 7th edition of “Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Festival.” It is to be noted that the event will be conducted on Saturday, 2nd March 2024 at New Castle Parade Grounds, St Andrew. 

The festival is celebrated with a vision to promote the local flavours which are used in making coffee. Along with that, it is conducted to position Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee as the pinnacle of taste and by creating a conversational gathering for all coffee lovers. 

The tourism authority of Jamaica welcomed the residents to experience the breathtaking Blue Mountains by taking them on a beautiful coffee journey. 

The authority has also shared the details of where the coffee enthusiast can purchase tickets to attend the Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Festival. 

The tickets are available at the following locations which include,   

1. Blue Brews Bistro – Holywell 
2. Devon House – Kingston
3. Rituals Coffee House – Half Way Tree
4. Cannon Ball Café – New Kingston, Sovereign North and Manor Park.
5. Café Blue – Irish Town, Liguanea, Constant Spring, Montego Bay and Ochi Rios.
6. Island Coffees Café – Victoria Pier, Island Village and Ocho Rios. 
7. Deaf Can! Coffee – Cassia Park, Half Way Tree.

Along with that, the tickets can be purchased online also by emailing at www.touchstonelink.com. Moreover, the interested individual will have to pay a certain amount to purchase tickets which includes, $5000 for adults, $3000 for children above 12 and the tickets are free for children below 12. 

Notably, the ticket includes a roundtrip shuttle from UTECH to the Festival Grounds, Coffee-related seminars, a Newcastle Museum tour and entry to win gate prizes. The first 500 adult tickets sold will receive festival memorabilia. 

Various residents of the country took to their social media accounts and raised their concerns about overpricing of the tickets and therefore asked the administration of the country to reduce their prices so that middle-class people could also afford them. 

One person with a Facebook account Jacqueline Jasmine Darien- McCarthy commented “That cost is very high, plus we have to buy stuff there. Are you kidding me? I’d love to go again but certainly not at that cost.”

Another person wrote, “The tickets are very costly, I really want to explore the place but it is not possible for me to afford the place.”
