Heidi Ellick outshines in Dominica’s national dress, wins Miss Wob Dwiyet Pageant 2024

Heidi Ellick, representing the community of Grand Bay claimed the prestigious National Miss Wob Dwiyet Pageant 2024. She showcased her exceptional beauty, charm and elegance, wearing the national dress of Dominica, symbolized traditional attire with utmost pride and honour.

The National Miss Wob Dwiyet Pageant 2024 is a part of the 46^th anniversary of Independence of Commonwealth of Dominica. The pageant was scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 23^rd October, 2024 at Old Mill Cultural Centre.

Notably, Heidi Ellick outshined six other girls to win the National Miss Wob Dwiyet Pageant 2024. She was followed by Jasileah Jacob of Paix Bouche and Byanka Thomas of Massacre who secured the second and third positions respectively.

The Commonwealth of Dominica Division of Culture appreciated all the contestants and lauded them for their commendable and exemplary performances. The authorities of the pageant also awarded the contestants with special awards, recognising their aura and diverse talents.

The newly crowned Miss Wob Dwiyet Pageant 2024, Heidi Ellick did not only win the crown but was also awarded with Special Awards including, the People’s Choice Award and the Best in Wob Dwiyet segment.

Meanwhile, the first runner-up, Jasileah Jacob, copped the award for Best Spectacular Wear. Byanka Thomas won the prize for the Best Performing Talent. Along with that, Zoryda Lewis was awarded with the title of the Miss OECS Pageant, Miss Amity Award and the Miss Photogenic Award.

The Division of Culture of Dominica stated that all the contestants who participated in the pageant beautifully showcased the vibrant culture and traditions of the island nation in a unique manner.

The new winner of Miss Wob Dwiyet Pageant 2024, Heidi Ellick is a 23-year-old and was born in the culturally vibrant community of Grand Bay known as South City. She has always been passionate about signing, dancing, travelling, cooking and learning about new things every day.

She has studied from the St. Martin Secondary and the Dominica State College where she majored in Business Administration. Her aim is to become a chef along with holding a degree in medical sciences.

She shed light on the lessons she learnt in her life and stated that the best thing an individual can do is to trust the process and timings of God. The motto of her life is to give love to all as they want it from God.

The National Miss Wob Dwiyet Pageant 2024 was the first pageant in which she competed in. She stated that this pageant has taught her a lot which will help her in the future as well. She further shared the experiences she discovered during her journey and aims to nourish every step and walk of her life.
