The Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad and Haiti’s National Identification Office have set up an identification card kiosk in Port-au-Prince at Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Tabarre.
The small office would mainly serve Haitian diasporas.
The MHAVE said that their compatriots in the diaspora who arrive in Haiti from abroad and wish to obtain a Unique National Identification Card (CINU) could go to the kiosk opened at Toussaint Louverture Airport to get the document.
ONI announced earlier this year that it would phase out the Haitian ID card which has been long in circulation and it would no longer be valid.
For obtaining the new national ID card, Haitians living abroad shall provide either an extract from the National Archives of Haiti, a birth certificate or baptism certificate.
