Guyana President Irfaan Ali expresses solidarity with government of Dominica, Saint Lucia amid floods

Guyana: The Government of the Republic of Guyana has extended its helping hand towards the neighbouring nations of the Caribbean region. President of Guyana, Dr Irfaan Ali, has stated that the government and people of the country have stood in solidarity with the government and people of Dominica, the Dominican Republic and Saint Lucia.
This post has been shared by the Head of the state after these nations witnessed flash flooding and heavy rainfall. The post by President read, “The Government and People of Guyana stand in solidarity with the Governments and People of the Dominican Republic, Dominica and St Lucia currently experiencing severe flooding as a result of heavy rainfall.”
While expressing condolences and praying for the safety and security of the people of both nations, President Ali stated, “We expressed condolences to the loved ones of those who lost their lives in the Dominican Republic and Dominica. The People of Guyana will keep you in our prayers and we are ready to provide any possible support during this difficult time.”
The islands of Dominica, the Dominican Republic and Saint Lucia were hit by floods. The floods were caused by a severe storm swept through these Caribbean countries. The storm caused widespread damage to the islands. The floods caused extensive damage to infrastructure and homes and left many people homeless.
The government of Dominica has commenced relief efforts, and the government of Saint Lucia has also set up a relief fund to help those affected by the floods. The long-term impacts of the floods are still unknown, but it is clear that both islands will be feeling the effects for many years to come.
