Guyana: New training facilities to be constructed in Region Six

Georgetown, Guyana: The Board of Industrial Training of Guyana has recently announced the training facilities will be constructed in the Region Six of the nation. This will be the first time that such a facility will be constructed.
As per the reports, the Ministry of Labour and Board of Industrial Training, moments ago, completed the signing of two separate contracts for the construction of two new training facilities in New Amsterdam and Corriverton, Region Six.
According to the updates shared by the Ministry and the BIT, the facilities will be erected according to the Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (CVQs) standards by local contractors.
The Ministry has further informed the general public that $44. 8 million was signed off to NK Enterprise Incorporated to build the facility in New Amsterdam, and $39.9 million went to Perba Trading and Construction Company for the construction at Corriverton.
Reportedly, both facilities will pattern similar designs, with two stories, measuring 2000 square feet for each floor, totalling 4000 square feet. The assigned engineer will be visiting both sites on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, to engage contractors with works expected to commence Thursday, July 13, 2023.
Earlier, the Ministry informed about the general public about the recent courtesy call by the Minister of Labour – Joseph Hamilton.
“Joseph Hamilton, Minister of Labour, received a courtesy call from representatives of Mixta Africa Company, today, at the ministry,” the update noted while further emphasising the other attendees of the event, including Country Manager of Mixta Nigeria, Sade Hughes and her technical team.
In the end, it was brief that the Mixta Africa Group, founded in 2005, has a presence in five African countries represented through its subsidiaries: Mixta Nigeria, Mixta Maroc, Mixta Tunisie, Mixta Senegal and Mixta Cote d’Ivoire with plans to expand into Ethiopia.
