Guyana: The man possessing cannabis dropped his parcels containing 15.422 kgs of narcotics and made a good escape into the nearby bushes, seeing the authorities in Regional Division #10.
It is to be noted that two ranked officers in the said area were performing their duties in a Force vehicle along the Ituni Trail when they saw a man approaching from the eastern direction on an XR motorcycle.
As per the details, the man jumped off the motorcycle and escaped from the area upon seeing the officers, dropping everything he was carrying. Notably, the man was carrying a bag on his back and two bulky parcels; one was lying in his front and the other at his back.

The Guyana Police Service took the motorcycle, the two parcels and the haversack, which that man was carrying with him, and took the same to Mackenzie Police Station.
According to the information shared by the authorities, the two bulky parcels were wrapped with black plastic on the inside and transparent plastic on the outside. Out of the two parcels, one was in a brown rice bag. The authorities conducted a search of the parcels, and they found various things from the parcel.
The parcel contained leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis. The cannabis was later weighed by the officers, and it weighed 34 lbs, which is equal to 15.422 kg. Meanwhile, the haversack of the man contained some mechanical tools and wet clothing.
Various residents of the community took to their social media accounts and extended their views on the matter.
One person commented, “The police authorities should try to catch that man who was containing such a huge amount of cannabis along with him.”
Another person commented the following: “It is good that police officials are performing their duties so diligently and working towards the betterment of the nation.”
The Guyana Police Service has ensured the citizens that they will take stringent measures to ensure the safety and security of the nation.
