Guyana: Labour Ministry to provide certificates to 32 officers of Guyana Police Force
The Ministry of Labour of the Republic of Guyana has recently shared an update regarding the certification in Heavy-Duty Equipment Operation.

Georgetown, Guyana: The Ministry of Labour of the Republic of Guyana has recently shared an update regarding the certification in Heavy-Duty Equipment Operation. The Police Force has expressed pleasure and thanked the Board of Industrial Training. The post by the ministry stated, “Thirty-two (32) police officers Guyana Police Force have received certification in Heavy-Duty Equipment Operation, thanks to the Board of Industrial Training.”
According to the Labour Ministry, the graduation ceremony was held at the Labour Ministry’s boardroom and attended by Joseph Hamilton, Minister of Labour, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Board of Industrial Training, Saskia Eastman-Onwuzirike, Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, among other officials.
During the event, Minister Hamilton stated that the event was in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the Ministry and the Guyana Police Force to allow personnel to gain skills for life after the force.
The Ministry outlined that as a result, he congratulated the graduates on completing the hard skills programme, particularly the female graduates, and hoped that they would inspire others to do the same. The minister also encouraged them to return to the training agency to learn new skills to supplement their existing ones.
Earlier, the Labour Ministry, in collaboration with the Board of Industrial Training, will soon certify 108 residents of Eccles, East Bank Demerara, in Commercial Food Preparation and Information Technology.
The ministry took it to social media and informed that the graduation ceremony is held at the Eccles Youth Skills Training and IT Centre. As per the update, Joseph Hamilton, Minister of Labour, Board of Industrial Training, Board Member Penelope Harris, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Saskia Eastman-Onwuzirike, Senior Technical Officer Leon Greaves, and other officials were present.
