Guyana: Health minister Dr Frank Anthony meets members of IDRF

Guyana: The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Guyana has informed that the board members of the International Development and Relief Foundation (IDRF) met with the health minister Dr Frank Anthony, on November 16, 2022.
“On Wednesday, the Board Members of the International Development and Relief Foundation (IDRF) met with Dr Frank Anthony, Minister of Health, at his office to outline future programming that the Project could provide to the Health Ministry’s Mental Health Unit,” the ministry of health informed.
According to the ministry, among those present at the meeting were Dr Latchmie Lall, Director of Chronic and Non-Communicable Diseases and Dr Timothy Morgan, Head of the Mental Health Unit from the Ministry of Health. The health authority furthermore stated that IDRF was represented by Yasmeena Mohammed, Co-Chair; Mahmood Oasim, Chief Executive Officer and Nabil Ali, Senior Director of Programs and Operations.
IDRF is an implementing organisation of Global Affairs Canada (GAC) geared at safeguarding the dignity of humans as well as the rights of populations at risk for ill-mental health in communities which are vulnerable in Guyana.
On the same day, Dr Frank Anthony, Minister of Health, received a courtesy visit at his Brickdam Office from Dr Renato Oliveira e Souza – Unit Chief of Mental Health and Substance Use, World Health Organisation/Pan American Health Organisation (WHO/PAHO).
Dr Renato Oliveira e Souza is attending the Guyana Mental Health and Well-Being Conference held at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre from November 15-18, 2022.
