The announcement for the International Business Conference (IBC) 2024 is made by the officials on Tuesday, 01 October. The information about the inaugural event was shared in a press appearance at the Guyana Office for Investment.
The inaugural International Business Conference will be held at the Marriott Hotel. The event will be for three days and will take place from 15 October to 17 October. It is also revealed that more than five hundred and fifty businesses already registered to attend the gathering.
The International Business Conference 2024 in Guyana is organised with the collaboration of Suriname along with key stakeholders. The business organisations backed the event with their support and significant investment.
The intention of the officials with the conference is to explore the potential business opportunities of market intelligence and networking in Guyana. The officials disclosed that the event will mark Guyana as the premier destination in terms of trade and investment in the Caribbean.
Dr Peter Ramsaroop, Head of the Guyana Office for Investment, expressed his vision and mentioned that Guyana is on the way to being a hub for quality investments and economic activity not just in the Caribbean but also in the Latin America region.
Dr Peter Ramsaroop said, “From the perspective of the government of Guyana, this fits the goal of making Guyana a destination to build capacity and find opportunities within all of the transformation projects that are happening within Guyana.”
He also added, “We would like to tell the world that it is not just about Guyana. The fact that we are sitting close to Northern Brazil, which is landlocked, we are actually a part of CARICOM, so investments across the region are important.”
Due to the involvement in the International Business Conference 2024, Liselle Blankendal, Surinamese Ambassador to Guyana, also expressed views on the event. The Ambassador talked about the strong standing relationship between both nations and said that the event would take it forward.
Ambassador Liselle Blankendal said, “The International Business Conference plays a critical role as a platform for fostering international partnerships, attracting investment opportunities and it serves as a vital meeting point for diverse stakeholders.”
He added, “The government officials, industry leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs will come together to share insights, explore synergy and create avenues for sustainable development.”
Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association and the Guyana-Suriname Chamber of Commerce are two major pillars of the event.
The organisers of the International Business Conference 2024 also launched a dedicated application for the event. With the help of the application, people can know more about the event and its focus on agendas. Updates related to the conference are also shared on it.
