Barbados: We have observed a sudden increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Barbados. Fortunately, Chief Minister of Health department, Dr. Kenneth George, declared that COVID-19 cases are trending downwards in Barbados.
This information has been taken from the official account (Facebook) of the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley. The post illustrates the ‘Immediate Release’ of all the suitable information for which the population is waiting.
People have many questions about the increasing number of cases. The government of Barbados has released all the answers. In that post, it was written clearly that there are 211 new cases of COVID-19(1st -2nd January), 86 cases(3rd-4th January).
These COVID-19 positive results came from 3,062 tests. This brings 692 total cases from the trials of 75,889 conducted in the respective laboratory.
People’s Reaction:
Cheryl Sue commented on Facebook, “We all need to continue following the correct protocols and keep ourselves loved ones as safe as we possibly can by wearing our masks, sanitizing and social distancing. We can do this; we will beat this.”
Another Facebook user commented, “What is happening with the Europeans that viciously broke the laws, and endangered Folks in Barbados, and at the airport trying to FLEE while positive? Will they be sentenced like the Jamaican man? As an American just verifying they won’t be treated differently than him, you know as the government does here.”
Shirley Chase commented, “Our prayers for protection to all officials working beyond the call of duty to keep our Barbadians safe as you a4 covered in Jesus Precious Blood. Amen. Thank you, Prime Minister, for your foresight. May God’s grace continue to guide and protect. Let’s work together.”
Someone wrote, “effective tomorrow, Wednesday, January 6th unrequested testing would be discouraged.” One might argue if they ask for a test, they are requesting it. I am assuming this means only requested from or by a medical provider/officer. Some might misread this.”
